Jui, Sierra Leone West Africa Opened in 2004 Margaret Conteh, Director The women's counseling
center, Center for Women's Ministries (Door of
Hope), had its official launching cermony on July 10th. It took place in
the College Chapel and was well attended. A camera crew from the national
television broadcasting system filmed the ceremony and the interviews with
the Africa National Director, Ann Chalk, and the local Center Director, Margaret Conteh. It was given extensive coverage on the evening news and was featured in a 30-minute program called Woman's
World. There is only one TV station, government owned and is broadcast all over
the nation. We are grateful to the Lord for the successful launching of
this ministry and for the counseling that is already being done. We
are very grateful to those of you that have made special donations for the
expense of this much-needed ministry to the abused women of Sierra Leone.
New classes began in August for the purpose of training more women to be
counselors. We hope to have another center open
in Freetown soon.
